I agree with those vouching for Bonine. My Uncle lived on the gulf side of FL. He lived right on intracoastal. I went out with him many times and most times I was fine. Then on one trip we went out far enough for the shore to disappear. Sea Sickness set in and I was providing chum for the fish...
Good for her. I'm glad the situation was resolved without any harm to the lady. Though I always cringe when a gun is pulled to try to scare a perp. It can be dangerous mainly if the person drawings hesitates but I do agree that discharge is an absolute last result.
The older guys are usually underestimated by perps. I remember seeing a video of an older gentleman chasing a perp and shooting at him along the way. :ar15:
Good points. If news were just fact rather than slanted stories and stretched truths their would be a lot less overall controversy and a more unified United States.
This is a great story. It is good to hear about officers, who would be justified in lethal action, choose less lethal tactics. Kudos to this officer. It's unfortunate that many officers of late take lethal action too willingly.
I think you did quite well. I would as well look for an obvious sign of a weapon and of course watch his body language. If no threat determined kindness will be given. I hope to never find myself in a situation that would warrant me to draw but if the situation forces me, I will. By the way if...
That's sounds like an unnerving situation. Being a felon i'd watch to see if he may have a weapon around. You may be able to report it if so. Then again if you can have a civil conversation on your terms then maybe you'll find that it was either a misunderstanding or we could always hope that he...
They are required identify themselevea both prior to and after entering. The stupid TV shows and movies rarely do this and the billets always fly freely without retribution I beleive this to be a large contributing factor to trigger happy cops we are seeing today. This man should not be...
That's is good info. I haven't thought about it in the light presented. While this may be beating a dead horse for all the older members I'm glad it was in the cath e posting section and easy to find. Thanks op for the post.
This is why there are always at someone with a gun at arms reach in our office. You just never know what psyco you may encounter even at an office setting.
Haha. Glad to see the store clerk was able to defend himself. If there were more clerks like this one there would be a lot less petty robbery like this.
That's all you'll need as long as you're as you are in an area in which carry is allowed. On another note I've always heard while growing up that the only dumb question is the one that isn't asked.
I don't think it'd be a good idea to ever shoot a warning shot or draw without intent to fire. I hope to never find myself in that situation. I hope the ruling goes in the defendants way.
I don't think he showed any aggression and thus should not have been shot. I wish the law officers today would receive public judgement for all to see. Maybe then other officers will take notice and be slower to fire unless really necessary.
Wow, I guess he doesn't even know the state laws in which he is paid to enforce. Come on man, go enforce the law on someone actually breaking it rather than harassing a contributing citizen.
