      Mosin

You have to remove the rear sight of your 91/30 ( M44 & M38 do not have the dovetail). Make sure you use steel rings and tighten them up good. Here is one link that I found http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=352456 God luck, nh

Recommendations for a cheap .22 rifle?

Ruger 10/22 all the way. Every member of the family has one. No complaints at all. I had an old marlin with the tube feed. It fired " out of battery" ( bolt not fully closed ) and shrapnel hit the wife that was standing to the right & behind me. Needless to say that is one of the few guns I ever...

What do you recommend for multi-purpose?

You have started in the right direction by asking around. FWIW, I say buy the AR. Just do some research on the one that you are most interested in. I believe most of them function about the same ( but I may be wrong). I have an older Mini 14 / Ranch rifle and it is a nice serviceable rifle. It...

      need help with chickens please

The BackYardChicken forum / website is just great. They helped me a lot with raising turkeys. The only tip I can give you is to not let them get too big before you butcher them. But I was dealing with Turkeys---my life story.
