Civil Religious Discussions : all things Christianity II

I'm going to stray from the current discussion and add something that came across me in a conversation recently. It seems in our extended group of friends, coworkers, and acquaintances there has been an increasing amount of death, pain, sickness and tragedy. This is all occurring over the last...

      Long Gun Show and Tell

1961 Winchester model 88, .308 Winchester. Hoping to find a second gunsmith to give it a go at its inability to eject a casing. Love the look and feel and want to take it to the woods this fall.

      Best bourbon under $50?

Benchmark!! It's a good one for the occasional guest who doesn't know better that isn't expensive at all. Some of their other releases (bonded, full proof, etc are a decent price also) If you're into Ryes, Sam's Club last week had Sazerac Rye 1.75L for $43 iirc...couldn't say no at that price...

      Gunsmithing

Does anyone know if Mr. Saltzman works on older winchesters by chance? I've recently acquired a '61 Model 88 that struggles to clear an empty round from the chamber. Any other gunsmith recommendations would be helpful!

      Recruit Dies At ILEA

Wondered the same myself...terrible tragedy regardless.

Why we can't have nice things...

I believe people's eyes are opening. Will it be too little too late? Not sure. One thing I believe, much of this destruction and violence was intentional. It started with O'bummer and Ferguson, MO. His (and the global elitist's) plan is to bring this country to its knees. They started by...

Try That in a Small Town

The biggest travesty of all is they claim he is a country music singer. The trash he puts out is not country music. The song triggered some folks. So did Morgan Wallen using a racial phrase a couple years ago but that's been forgotten about too. Give it a hot minute, it'll be old news before...

      Long Gun Show and Tell

Remington 700CDLSF 300WM, 50th anniversary edition. Leupold vxII 4-12x40 and Talley rings. To date, still unfired!

      Shotgun Show and Tell

Beretta Silver snipe, my great uncle gave to me. He's also the man that introduced me to turkey hunting and we've spent some wonderful time together. He's a brother to my late grandfather. I took this gun to Winner, SD the first chance I got and sent him some pics of the roosters (and a few...

Marion County Deputy Sheriff Killed By "Pit Bull Type" Dog

I have a standing rule that I also am teaching my children: never trust a dog unless it's your own. And even then, never assume all is well. Dogs are dogs, I've had a chocolate lab for 12 years now. He's never been aggressive with me, my wife, or my children. He has however gotten a little out...

Pictures of the great outdoors thread.

One of my favorite tree stands on a foggy morning during bow season. Watched two bucks spar over a hot doe across the woods later in the morning.

Secret Service investigating suspected cocaine discovered inside White House

When the democrats create a distraction in the "media"....be looking elsewhere for what they might be distracting you from.

Bug A Salt and autism were made for each other...

First time I ever used or saw one was in our guides lodge in S.D. during pheasant opener. Never seen more flies than in mid October in Winner, SD. Needless to say the evenings get interesting after dinner and cocktails when someone pulls out the Bug A Salt!

6-3 SCOTUS decision ends race-based college admissions

Can't believe it even had to go to the Supreme Court! Oh wait...yeah I can, this clown world has become a complete circus. Now...do it with state and federal funded contracts. Taxpayers would be sick (more so than already) if they knew the premiums they pay to infrastructure improvements...

      Long Gun Show and Tell

Here's one of my occasional hunters. Model 94, pre-64 long-wood. This one's a little different being chambered in .32 Win Special. Been fortunate to grab a box of ammo here or there and may start reloading for it. It has a sibling 1938 long wood in .30WCF (successful harvest on that one's...

REINTRODUCING THE MARLIN MODEL 1894™ CLASSIC

Very nice, wondered if someone had posted about it here yet (fairly green to INGO yet). One of my most regretted sales of a gun was a very nice Marlin 1894 (edit: JM stamp, pre-safety), can't recall the model. Many a time I've wished I still had it, but ya live and learn. Anxious to see one in...

      Beer Out My Nose

More pandering to their past consumer base, curious to see if target will ever follow suit and admit they messed up also...maybe too woke to care?

      Academy Sports

I've shopped online at Academy but never in a store. How does it compare to Dunhams? I occasionally stop when passing the Columbus Dunhams thinking I'll find a deal. Usually ends in frustration! I did find out they will price match any gun though if you can show its legit cheaper somewhere else.
