      All things being equal?

Yep. Bolt will still be locked to the barrel extension. I would think it would sound the same. Only thing I can think of is maybe gas leaking from the gas block itself.

      Advantages?

With a 22lr and a decent can it's very fun. Probably the most fun per dollar in the NFA world. A 22 with subsonics and a good suppressor will sure put a smile on your face. Nothing better than plinking pop cans with friends/family and not having to wear hearing protection.

      SBR/Pistol question

Efiles with trusts are coming back pretty fast right now. I don't know that I'd bother with building up the pistol. Just spend the $200 for the stamp and wait. My last two (from mid August) came back in 17 days. I'm a little over that on the ones I'm waiting for now but I'm hoping for this...

Machine Gun Shoot @ Knob Creek...who's going?

Small crowd yesterday. Fun as always. I try and go once a year.

      Kimber Solo ???

I've had a Solo for my "deep cover" pistol for about two years now. It does not like 115gr! It will shoot 124 and 147gr with no problems. It does carry well and is pretty accurate for it's size. It is snappy to shoot, but is manageable. I wouldn't want to bang 200 rounds through it in a...

      New 1911 in the house!

Nice choice! Careful though. 1911's are an addiction.....

Man it feels good to shoot again

I shot last weekend to sight in a new optic on one of the M4's. With ammo prices where they are I sure am careful on how much I use. I've got plenty, just can't replace it.

      colt diamondback

You shouldn't have any problems getting your money out of it. I have a 38 4" Diamondback and paid a pretty penny for it. Post up some pictures of yours and we should be able to give you an idea on value.

      Build an AR 15 .22LR?

From my experience the M&P 15/22 is a better rifle. I have some friends that have both and of the two the M&P wins hands down. I've got two of the CMMG 22AR's and shoot them to death. Good luck finding anything right now though. My 18" "match rifle" (below and to the right) Here's an old...

kimber take it or leave it

Yea..... I'm so shocked you'd say that.... :D To the OP, nice purchase. Even though I'm a Colt fanboy Kimber does make some decent 1911's.

I'm a real big fan of my Colt Night Defender: Lower right.....

      .45ACP 230 grain

This. Yes, FMJ will and does work but a quality hollow point (Ranger, HST, DPX) works better. Might just be 5% better, but since it's my life or the life of my loved ones on the line I'll take that 5%. There has been a significant amount of research done on bullet performance in the last 20...

      trespassing an open business

Can't stop being black. Can't untuck your shirt to cover it. Can't leave it in the car either. Again, I freaking hate people trying to link the OC movement to the civil rights movement. Just a fat, white, middle-aged white guy for what it's worth.

      trespassing an open business

And I don't agree with that crap. Not a smoker, just don't like the breach of property rights.

      What would you have done?

This. Everything is locked. They get in, they broke something. Someone in my house that should not be there=they stare down the barrel of a firearm and start explaining why I should not shoot them.

Brought home a Delta Elite plus new ivories on another Colt...

On the flats up near the muzzle there is light pitting along with some slight pitting in other places. Looks like improper storage to me. I've hit it with some 000 steel wool and oil. That looks like it got rid of the rust. It's now got a pretty heavy coating of Froglube on it. The...

Brought home a Delta Elite plus new ivories on another Colt...

Im a bit disappointed in it's condition and am taking that up with the auction seller, but I do like it. Looks like he's going to pay for a refinish from Colt. I did have Charles from Spresser Knife Works build me up some Sambar Stag grips with Delta medallions for it. They look great! Now I...

Why I Open Carry a Firearm

I am not debating anybodies right to OC. That is for another thread. Not to mention, I support your and anybody's right to legally do so. I just have a problem with comparing the OC quasi political movement to the civil rights movement. It's as another poster stated about Hitler. To compare...
