While the optimist in me hopes for a great improvement by locking back the slide, my experience with metals and springs tells me it won’t change a thing, much like storing magazines full versus empty. A quality made spring just doesn’t relax or weaken over time when compressed somewhere less...
Yours does look surprisingly similar to my Tokarev! I like the idea of locking the action open so I’m heading to the gun safe right now to do just that!

I think it’ll take a bit longer than most here depending on the situation. If it were a solar event/ emp deal, the normalcy bias would hold most people back from getting too worried. There are the groups that would riot and rage but I think that will be more localized to their own neighborhoods...
I just came home from the range. I ran 100rds through it today. I had 2 boxes of Federal, a box of Winchester white like I tried initially and another box that I can’t remember what it was but it was an off brand. Started with the random box and ran 4-5 rounds without any ejections, having to...
I’d guess the majority of 45 ACP voters are 1911 guys. Just doesn’t seem like there are many 45 ACPs out there beyond 1911 variants. I’ve had a Glock and a Springfield XDS in 45 ACP. Neither stayed around long. Still have several 1911s though.
The shotgun comes with a heavier “piston” that is to be used with loads 1 1/4oz and heavier. I thought about trying some 1 1/4oz with the standard piston to see if that makes any difference. I don’t have any in stock and didn’t find any at the last gun shop I was at.
3 dram is pretty much all I see on the shelves. I’ve been using the same ammo on my Beretta A-300 and A-400 without any issues. Hopefully it just needs a bit of break in as I’d really like it to be my nightstand shotty but it’s gonna have to get a whole lot more reliable!
Nothing in the manual. I’d skimmed it beforehand then read it closer after the range trip. I haven’t been able to get over to the range since the first time. I’ve bought several different boxes to try. I saw one review that said to use high brass but that stuff is rare at lgs and expensive!I...
Palmetto had these on sale. I resisted buying one for a couple weeks but finally gave in. I took it out today to try it out. I didn’t think to take a variety of ammo, just a box of Winchester white box 2 3/4” 1 1/8 3dram. I ran 20 rounds through it but not a single one fully cycled the action...
I got the deal with 10 mags, twice! I haven’t opened the second ten but I’ve ran at least five full loads through each of the first ten I got. No failures so far. I realize that’s not a lot of use but all the mag problems I’ve ran into have been in the first few loads.
Racing at Circle City Raceway was fantastic last night! The speakers on the east end were dead so I couldn’t hear much of anything the announcer said. I hadn’t been to the track for over 20 years so I only knew one of the drivers in the Late Models. Billy Moyer still racing at 66 years old! He...
Getting ready to head over to Circle City Raceway for the CJ Rayburn 2nd Tribute Dirt Late Model race. Last time I attended a dirt late model race I was behind the wheel of my Rayburn at Brownstown Speedway in 2000. I gave it up after that season. I never went back to the track after that. Still...
I’ve got a couple of them and not upset that I paid a bit more for them. Both have been flawless. First one has about 600rds through it and the second has 250 through it. The second one has an inexpensive red dot on it and I’m loving it!
