i agree with all the comments about a 22, but no one mentioned dry fire practice. get a feel for the trigger and on an automatic, it can be a clearing practice.
wanted to give a shout out about gunsmith jerry johnson.
had him install a barrel on my garand (308 criterion). i stripped the rifle, leaving on the rear sight.
he had the barrel changed and headspaced in the time it took me to get a burger and visit a local gun shop.
everything looked lined...

you could go with electroless nickle. mahovsky's metalife website says they EN over aluminum. i have had them blue a pistol and hardchrome a pistol. both came out beautifully.
hey all, i just purchased a turk mauser and i pretty much figured everything out except this trigger guard screw. about the tiny screw in the large screw. anybody know? is it just a complete mismatch? thanks.
