      New Site Look

Hey mods. Just wanted to give you a thumbs up on the new look. I like it! Haven't had much time to play around on the site recently, due to work. But the lack of time did give me an idea. I'm sure it's probably been pitched to you before, but I thought a mobile app would be nice to have. That...

To those who say Republicans are no different than Democrats

I'd like to say that the only reason the Libertarians and green party, etc. haven't done these things before is because they've never had control of Washington.

      Riding mower CL good deal?

That appears to be a 48" deck. With only 20hp, That will do fine, if you plan on cutting it every week. If you plan to cut, say, every other week, that simply won't be enough. The engine will get bogged down entirely too easily, and a fair amount of grass will so make it through without being...

      ND in Fort Wayne Walmart?

Sounds completely accidental to me. Still shouldn't have happened, but accidents to happen occasionally. Maybe he bought a crappy holster. Maybe his custom holster was worn out and it just gave up the ghost, losing the firearm. Who knows. We sure don't because it's not in the story. Either way...

Letter of a dying Iraq war veteran to Bush

Funny, all the soldiers I've talked to that served in Iraq sounded the exact opposite from this case. He is definitely an outlier. When taking surveys, they usually throw out the samples that vary greatly from the majority. Example: if they poll 100 people on something and have the options of...

      Gifting a gun

The thread about Mark Kelly being refused a rifle purchase crossed my unread posts feed and got me thinking, since the store owner refused to sell him the gun because he was not buying it for himself. But what about gifting a firearm? I'm a little confused about the rules surrounding a gift...

      Remington 700 BDL 30-06

Let me just put it this way: the Marines think so highly of the 700 that they use it as their go-to sniper rifle. And they have since 1966. On that note, I have a 700 in .223 and it was shooting dime size groups straight out of the box with green and white box of Remington UMC factory ammo.

URGENT! MAN WITH LONG GUN ON IUPUI CAMPUS DOWNTOWN

My brother is on campus too. Sounds to me like a false alarm. He says campus is swarming with cops and they've been there for over 2 hours. Still haven't found the guy. My guess is somebody thought they saw a gun and flipped out.

Need a rifle for trap shootin'

Well, I would start by purchasing a shotgun, not a rifle...on that note, you can't go wrong with an 870

So the drug addict 13 year old next door has a gun...

You say you are a little outside greenwood. You aren't in the Beech Grove district are you?

      Don't have permission?

I honestly don't recall where exactly the link was, other than to say it was definitely in somebody's sig. Probably was Fenway's.

      Seriously?

I prefer cheese dogs myself. I get the whole immediate gratification thing. The rifle in question is actually the model I'm wanting to buy eventually. But I won't pay ridiculous prices for it. I guess I should just be thankful that my parents actually instilled in me the value of a dollar.

      Seriously?

It's good to know that panic prices are still in full swing for some folks. Browsing the classifieds, I saw that someone has bought a used SW M&P 15 sport for $1000. Now, if the rifle had a nice red dot, or some extras, then maybe I could see spending a grand on $700 NEW rifle. Now, I'm a...

      Don't have permission?

I have a question about classifieds rules. So I went to the FAQ, clicked on the forum rules link, then found the classifieds rules link and clicked on that link. When I clicked on the link, I got a page that says I don't have permission to view the page. I've gotten this page before, but can...

      Materials for "bullet box"

Free is always good. I had no idea you could get phone poles for free. I researched them a very little bit and could only find them for $50 a pop. I do like the tire idea too. Didn't know you could get those for free either. Although the parents might find those to be a little trashy looking...

      Up coming auction 2/23/13

Well, looking at the website, if the auction is taking place at the auction house, it will be in New Albany. Here's the address. I might try to go. Lots of interesting guns. Something Different, II Auction House 2107 Corydon Pike, Building B New Albany, IN 47150

      Materials for "bullet box"

My family just bought an additional 6 acres off the back edge of our current 4 acres. I plan on moving my current shooting range to the back of the new acquisition. As a part of that, I will be building a "bullet box." I'm needing to find some railroad ties to build it and will need some dirt...

      Gander Mountain...props

It's not a ridiculous policy right now. It's simply to keep order and prevent chaos. And to keep the risk of their employees getting trampled as low as possible. For their Thursday morning shipments, they are handing out numbers for ammo. Anything that isn't common (ie, 22lr, .223, 9mm, .45...

      Gander Mountain...props

The truck arrives every Thursday morning. Currently, they unload the truck onto a cart and hand out numbers before they let anybody in. Once inside, they call out the numbers so it isn't complete chaos. I got there around 8:45 and they open at 9. I have no idea when everybody else got there...
