Regardless of being free from jail, the anti-gunners will overlook the fact that he shouldn't have HAD a gun to being with...they'll just focus on how evil all guns are and how we shouldn't have them and then THIS sort of thing wouldn't happen.
I went, but didn't go until about 3:00 Saturday afternoon.
Wasn't too impressed, but wasn't expecting a whole lot either. I was able to get some ammo and swap out a couple magazines that I had been needing to get rid of, so it wasn't a total wash.

The simple fact that Lugar is, and always has been, anti-gun is why he would vote against it.

If you can wait that long, I'd go to the next 1500 show (Aug. 28.29.30) and look for one there. There are more than a couple booths that are nothing but holsters.
