I actually bought one very recently, and I haven’t had a chance to take it out yet, but it definitely feels much more “AR” than my 15-22, just due to use of metal instead of polymer. Have heard enough good things for me to buy one, but I can’t give you any first hand knowledge yet.
Agreed. I love mine. I run it on a bunch of different guns, but it mostly lives on my 300BO. I run supers and subs through it routinely. Not sure why it’s not a good option for 300BO.
Looking to buy a Sig P320 Full size X-Series pistol. Looking to spend $500-600.
Happy Shooting!
Location: Vincennes (NOT Valpo, for those that only know of one V-city in Indiana. Haha)
Mine started way before 100k. Mines a 2010 with 83k on it, and it’s been burning for the last 20-30k, at least to some degree. Nothing super major, but it’s worth keeping an eye on.
Backpacker, congrats on the new Wrangler though! 37k on a 2010 is great!
I believe gmcttr is referring to the original VQ install, not your firing pin install, necessarily. But I 100% agree with him that cleaning with carb cleaner and not oiling isn’t going to tell us much of anything until you get some oil on it in the proper places.
I have this rail on my CZ 457 and it’s great. I originally bought one for my 455 per Alan at A&A Optics. He definitely highly recommended a conversion rail and traditional pic rings. He didn’t seem to think Weaver-style ring attachments were worth it, and he knows way more than I do. Here’s a...
I shot my first IDPA a couple months ago with a buddy who was nice enough to take me. I’ve done a lot of shooting, including training with Tactical Response this past winter. I’m generally a “good shot,” but man, when I heard that first beep, I engaged the first couple targets, and then it hit...
haha. Guess that’s what makes the world go round. The shooting world can be whatever you want it to be, I suppose. In the last couple years is when I have really gotten into longer range shooting. I’m fortunate enough to have a buddy with enough farmland to stretch our steel range out to 973...
Haha. Yeah, I meant stretch out in respect to having been shooting at 25’. Having said that, normally I don’t do much pistol shooting for groups outside of 30’ or so. Past that, we normally shoot pistol at 4-12” steel anywhere from 50-250 yards (mostly for kicks) so it’s not much of a precision...
That’s some insane shooting! Great work! I really wanna stretch out to 50’ now and try some shooting. May have to find me a well-suited scope to try that out.
What magnification do you shoot at?
haha. I felt like I was about the same a few times. Maybe not quite 0.28”, but felt good until that last shot just barely takes a little more paper. That’s still plenty impressive. We’ll have to do 9 shot groups next time.
Yep. 100% this. Adjustable objective only went down to 40 yards and it’s a FFP scope so the crosshairs were super tiny/wispy and I couldn’t maintain focus on the crosshairs. That’s why I went to the little marker dots. Helped me see the crosshairs initially, until I bailed on the scope all...
Great shooting! I’d be interested to know a little more about your scope. I’ve never considered a scope for a pistol, but this has me kinda thinking about it now.
