If you plan on taking more than 1 class / year at MALC you should go ahead and join 7CCRT. It cost $100, but you get $100 off of most of the classes. There are some great classes - the pistol/rifle classes are good.
MALC provides very good training. I joined 7ccrt just because I know I will take more than one class a year. So far, I've done defensive pistol 1&2, defensive rifle 1&2, Libre knife fighting (very recommended), Civilian Response to Active shooter, and Situational / Behavioral Awareness. The...
I like mine. It is snappy. It'll want to break your grip after a shot or two. What I did that really helped is I got the medium aggressive talon grip and I put a little patch where support thumb rides on the rail.
I do shoot a box of ammo at least twice a month with it just to keep sharp with...
I'll powder coat them.
Typically, I just cast with ww lead and the hp boolits generally fragment when they hit water/gel and the solids generally just pass on though without dumping a lot of energy.
We did do some testing on some 40 cal boolits and they expanded nicely.
Do in a month or two...
Finally got around to trying the MP 452-200 mold with the penta points! Cast about 14 lbs. I used some nice clean 1:25 lead so they should expand nicely.
I think smoothing out the internals smoothed out the trigger pull and the different springs dropped the pull weight a little. It's still a fairly heavy pull and still has a distinct wall.
With the sentinel, you can still see a couple mm of the top of the sights and some color of the front...
I carry a hellcat with a swampfox sentinel. I have done the following to it:
1) Put talon grips plus a little pad where my support thumb indexes.
2) Polished all internals that contact in a trigger pull (the striker safety plunger seems to be the most important)
3) Replaced safety plunger, sear...
Start with a single stage. When you start, you can probably build 100 cartridges with a single stage in 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This will get you very familiar with the components, how each step happens and the "weird" things that you find. Personally, there are a bunch of calibers that I only load...
I bought the harbor freight one with the cabinet style doors for my casting cart. So my molds, pot, etc are in it and I push it outside when I want to cast. I've got a covered area with a ceiling fan that is just about perfect...
I bought a piece of 2 1/2" butcher block from Menards and used 36" x 2" pipe to make mine. The flanges for the pipe allow for really precise leveling and I lag bolted a 2x4 to the wall for the back.
It'll be there after the house falls down... I also put 2 screws per plate on the floor into...
I ordered an MP 452-200 4 cavity brass mold (with the tinker set of pins) on Sun, Mar 5 at 10:29 PM. I received this mold today at about noon.
It's awesome looking - I can't wait to make some boolits with it.
But... How do they get a mold from Lukovica, Slovenija to Nashville, Indiana that...
