      Fall foliage scenic drives suggestions

Brown County State Park usually provides plenty of nice scenery when the leaves are changing color. I haven't been out that way lately to confirm. SR46 from Columbus to west of Nashville can be nice but, during the fall, can also be heavily traveled as a lot of others like the scenery.

      Socks

Smartwool works for me. If it's below 30 deg. insulated boots with the wool socks help a lot.

      Ar15. Optics 25-300 yd range?

You may want to consider one of the Nikon ProStaff scopes. Natchez frequently has refurbished from Nikon for good prices. I've picked up three (two Monarch's and one ProStaff) and they have done fine for me.

Looking for a pocket revolver ...recommendations.

I have both the SP101 in .357 and the LCR in .38+P. They're both great revolvers but, for carry the LCR wins, hands down. For shooting comfort, it would be the SP101. The LCR has a great out of the box trigger and is very controllable with +P rounds but, the extra weight of the SP101 make it...

First AR, looking for input on hand guards etc.

Magpul MIAD grip and MOE handguards are great as are their mags. U.S.Patriot makes an excellent point about learning to shoot accurately with the iron sights. Learn the controls, practice the basics and always be SAFE!

      Sons of Guns tv show...

I do not believe that 'Sons of Guns' does anything positive for the shooting fraternity. It is, as others have said, apparently scripted like the other Discovery Channel shows and that entire genre has worn out its' welcome on my tv screen. I don't need to tune in to a show where every other...

      Trigger help

I'm no gunsmith but, I had a trigger job done on my AR and it is MUCH improved. Had nothing to do with springs and everything to do with the trigger / sear geometry. Someone else posted about the parts being only case hardened (and a very shallow case at that). My 'smith cut some of the metal...

what guns you had you really wish you had back.

Let's see... just about all of them. We'll start with the two M1A's, Ruger Security Six, Colt pre-Series 70 National Match, High Standard Supermatic Citation, S&W Model 41, the consecutively numbered Ruger Mark II factory overrun KMK512B's... I can't continue, this is killing me.

      Shot my first Glock.

Although I prefer the 1911's, I own three Glocks (17, 19 and 23). All three shoot well (everything I own shoots better than I do). Every Glock I have ever fired has functioned without a problem and accurately, too. Maintenance is pretty darn easy with them, as well. Just be careful not to...

      Colt defender

I usually carry a Colt Night Defender (special run by Colt for Talo - aluminum frame and dark blued slide) in .45ACP. I have probably run 500+ rounds through it and have had no issues with either hardball or JHP. I started carrying the Hornady Critical Defense ammo in it (and my other defense...

      Hello from Columbus

Thanks. Do the "Plinker" and "Sharpshooter" designations relate to number of posts made??

      which is preferred for carry..

Semi auto. Usually Colt Defender. Depends a lot on clothing. I like and own a number of revolvers but, for me at least, they are much more difficult to conceal. The flatter semi auto makes that easier.

      Hello from Columbus

Although I registered with INGO quite some time ago, I have never taken the time to get engaged with this forum. I have been engaged in other forums to one degree or other and, hope to do so here, as well. I look forward to communicating with you.
