      Giraffe Bone Grips

A lot of giraffe bone is sold to knife makers for handle scales. If you want the raw material to make grips I would suggest the knife making supply companies.

      Casting equipment

The Lee liquid aloe is not going to work well for you as a bullet lube. It is very sticky and is not water soluble so very hard to get off of cases (I don’t want to think of the mess in the dies). There are lots of good case lubes out there, I would stick with those.

would these be safe in a 30/30 tube mag?

I have used similar profile in tubular magazines with no problems. I also agree that the FTX bullets are a much better choice overall for my lever gun.

Questions On Current Costs Of Reloading Shotshells

Reclaimed shot work pretty well for casual target loads in my experience - I am not a good enough wing shot to really see the difference:)

Looking for Local Source of Lead .38 & .45 acp Bullets

If you are okay with making your own alloy from scrap and wheel weights, I have had good luck buying from local small scrap dealers. The big dealers (Omni Source and similar) do not want to sell to individuals, but small operations in small towns will sell in some cases.

The 45-70 Government is still relevant

Of all of the guns I own, my Marlin 1895SS is by far my favorite. The versatility in loading is unequaled by any other cartridge I shoot. With cast bullets and tiny charges of red dot powder I can shoot it for little more than the cost of .22LR; loaded to full power it is capable of taking...

      WTS: 1917 Enfield (Remington)

1917 Enfield, Remington, .30-06 caliber, manufactured in July 1918 in what appears to be unaltered military configuration. The receiver is Remington but the rifle has Eddystone and Winchester parts. Bore looks good, stock has what appears to be an arsenal repair on the toe. I have owned this...

Hornady 250 gr monoflex in 45-70

Broom_jm I will be hunting in MN (where I am originally from) and later in KS. Bstewrat3 Thanks for the info. I has compared the 250 gr monoflex to the 325 gr FTX and they were almost exact ally the same length. As a result, I trimmed my brass to the 2.040 you noted and as specified in the...

Hornady 250 gr monoflex in 45-70

These are for hunting in a "rifle" state, so full-length. I did look up the loading data for the Barnes 250 gr copper bullet and used that data as a guide. I put together some loads from this data, working up to the max load and watching for pressure signs. The bullets grouped very well at...

Hornady 250 gr monoflex in 45-70

I recently received a box of these light bullets for the 45-70 and hoped to try them over the weekend. Unfortunately, I found that my Hornady manual does not list loads for this bullet. Has anyone found an effective load for this bullet, especially in the Marlin 1895? I welcome any...
