You most certianly can reload rimfire, Is it practical, safe or worth it ? Not at all.

The .17hmr is my go to squirrel gun. If you use HP or BT ammo then loss of meat can be a problem. Cci makes a game round that is solid. This pokes a hole straight through them with no meat damage. Can't get a better squirrel gun.
