    The chances of a safety dropping in are slim to zero. Every one I have ever used had to be fit up. They come with extra meat on the bone so fitting to the gun is required.

    Wilson make a drop in that is designed to work with the long tangs on the frame. But you may have to change the hammer also.

    They don't look as nice as a fit one thought.

    Safeties, as a rule, almost never "drop in" on any type of firearm. Besides, you WANT that sucker properly fitted. You NEED that sucker properly fitted. Close enough just don't cut it.

    Welcome to INGO!....I know you are new here but you have just heard from some of the best most knowledgeable 1911 guys I have ever met. CM is a 1911 master but as far as I know he only works on his and some select few.

    AllenM does amazing work and would trust him with anything I need done. He is located around the Avon area you might PM him and see if he is interested.
