My Uncle receoved a revolver from his father (he is 79 ) and I am looking for info on this gun for him. The Serial Number is 118188 and I have narrowed it down to being manufactured around 1892. It has a broken Mainspring and has 5 purposedful notches in the grip and was purchased at a sheriffs auction possibly in Portage Wisconsin sometime prior to 1930.

Looking for a site to determine based on the serial number what the history of this particular firearm is and possible sourse for the replacement main spring.

Its in pretty good shape. any ideas on possible range of values?

Piics forthcoming. but need to upload them....

    Thanks for any help gang!!!
