I am looking for a 45 ACP lever action rifle or a gun smith that can make one. I love my 45 ACP 1911 and wand a lever action rifle to go with it. Any ideas? Checked with one gun smith and he was not sure who makes one or if one could be made? Ideas

Lever action rifles are normally chambered for rimmed cartridges. The action would not feed well with a rimless cartridge like .45ACP. There is a rimmed version called the .45 Autorim, but you would have to have a gunsmith create a rifle for you.

Thanks for the direction. I sent a note to Taylor machine from your link. I will post what I get back. Sounds like there is interest.

    wow what a nice find

I know you said you want a lever action but you may also want to look into the Marlin Camp Carbine in 45acp. It uses the same mags as your 1911 so that's a plus.

wow did not know of this gun, what a nice crossover for your 45..

Went over to Gunbroker looks like you can get these in the 400 to 500 range.

Now just to ask the dumb question of the month, I see that they have 15 round magazines, can these magazines fit into your pistol also??? :dunno:

Mucho thanks for sharing this info...

$400 to $500 sounds more like the 9mm version. I believe the 45acp are more rare and more expensive. Someone else can answer about the high capacity 1911 mags because I'm not a 1911 guy:D

    From John Taylor Machine
"I do not sell guns. I do have an FFL but the paper work is more than I
want to bother with, I make my money doing machine work. It would
require an 1894 Marlin in 45 Colt, any other caliber would require a new
barrel. Small calibers will not work because they have a smaller mag
tube and are not machined right for the larger brass. Price is $250 for
    the work plus return shipping."
