458 Socom...in a Mauser?

ARs in 458 Socom are PRICEY!!! What say you about a Mauser action with a 458 Socom barrel? Be a heck of a deer whacker!!! Thoughts? Comments? Please keep your thoughts about my sanity to yourself

Nothing insane about it at all, thought about doing something similar myself. Should work just fine, may need some work to get it to feed reliably, but if its a true large ring Mauser action and bolt, that shouldn't be an issue. Same rim diameter as 308, 30-06, 8mm etc, etc.

You could always rebarrel a Savage. Then you could switch back to the original caliber with a few tools and some go/no-go gauges. Barrels are already chambered and threaded. Check out BFG on here.

I've done several Mausers, they can be a little ornery to get to feed correctly.

M&S Armament may have some 458 Savages available......
