Weren't most Flintlock pistols smoothbores? I am sure some of the later ones were rifled but I think most were smoothbores which would make a ballistics check unnecessary unless this one is rifled and even then the list of recent unsolved shootings involving a flintlock pistol has got to be pretty small.
