A fella that's interested in buying my Sigma 9mm can't pay my price because he thinks that 2500 - 3000 rounds through it is "a lot of wear". Seems to me like it's just nicely broken in. So, who's right? I'm asking $250 for the gun.
Can buy the gun New in box for $315, which means a local gun shop would give you around $150-$170 for trade.....they're not a really popular gun and I've been offered them in like new condition, hardly a round through them for $250......so, your price isn't far off if any of where it should be priced.......the fact is that you're the seller, sell it for what you want....if he can't pay that, then don't sell it to him.....don't take it personally, it's just business
On a match rifle barrel, 2500-3000 rounds is quite a bit, but on a defensive pistol I would call it simply used. Whether he feels your price reflects "like new" or used is just a pricing issue, but 3000 rds should represent <10% of the usable life of a defensive pistol IMO.
Any modern full sized handgun that can't handle multiple 10s of k rounds isn't worth anything. Yeah, there are wear parts that may need to be replaced like springs and extractors, but anyone who thinks 2000-3000 rounds is nearing the end of life for a handgun is obviously not a shooter.
Around Indpls most dealers will allow $150.00 to $200.00 for a clean Sigma on trade. You must realize Sigma,s are not a real popular gun. if I owned it and had a ACTUAL buyer that would go $225.00 $235.00 cash/not trade, I probably would sell it. But, that is just me. Cash does talk.
Like said, pistol rounds do not eat a barrel very fast. There are 75 year old .45's out there with the original barrel that have shot 10's of thousands of rounds, and are still accurate.
Like others have said. Since you are the seller you choose whether to sell it or not. And he the buyer decides whether he will pay that or not. That being said 2-3K rnds is not that many. My Gen 2 Glock 19 is pushing 20K and still going strong.
Your gun your price, he doesn't like it he can go somewhere else.
3000 rounds is a couple months for me, and a weekend for some people. That is not very used IMO.
