What I would call new are those I bought new. A 4” S&W 44 Magnum Mountain gun, a couple Pietta (I think) 44 Magnum lever actions, a Cimerron 44 Special open top Navy, a built AR-15, a Ruger LPC Max and recently a P365XL. The rest are anywhere from a decade or more older back to the Civil war.

For EDC some of the newer ones are better, lighter.

Newer design or newer manufacture of old designs? My oldest 1911 is just over 15 years old. But I’ve also got a 1908 manufacture and a 1946 manufacture long gun so……?

I wouldn't consider a 1911 new to the market. Basically, did the gun exist say 5-6 years ago? Examples: Beretta A300 patrol, Springfield Echelon, Sig P365, S&W CSX, S&W FPC, Ruger Max 9, Springfield Prodigy, FN Reflex, IWI Carmel, etc

OMG. That has to be the most terrifying thing I have ever heard. Someone handling an AR with a bayonet....while wearing CROCS. Man....what is this world coming to. Does style have no meaning? Tactical awareness(you would be better of barefoot than wearing foam on your feet!). I have heard it all now. CROCS while using a bayonet.....unbelievable.

I'm not mathing out the percentage, but by far the largest portion of handguns are revolvers and hammer fired Sig P2XX. One 1911. A hand full of personally owned Glocks. I own more P220s alone than Glocks, actually.

Rifles? Nothing other than a take-down 10-22 wouldn't have been available 20+ years ago. ARs and bolt actions.

Shotguns: Pumps and a Ted Williams semi-auto.

Taurus TX22 is something different and new to the market that I have and really enjoy.
Ruger PCC? It's kinda like a 10/22 in 9mm so not sure if that is new and innovative.
I pretty much stick to the technology that works, and wait until the new stuff has been tried and proven.
Everything else is based off older firearms designs that I own.

I have two guns that have a build date that starts with a "2", other than that most everything is as old or older than I am.

And like that great philosopher Mr T said, "Piddy da fool..."

I dunno,...I buy a lot of stuff but 'new' stuff is not a big interest. I don't even usually know what the new stuff is but that being said I probably have 40-50 guns that have been newly introduced in the last ten yrs, so maybe 4-5%. Half the stuff I own is older than I am(smarter and better looking too).
