So I think we found a good place to shoot now and have the VERY basics down. Since I am as new to the sport as my kid any advice for a newbie trap shooter (& or the parent of one) Any do’s or don’ts ? Things to spend money on or not spend money on? Dry practice techniques?

Didn’t see a thread like this so maybe it could help others too. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Practice mounting and shooting the gun without looking at the bead. The hardest part of any shotgun shooting for me is turning off the part of my my brain that wants to reference the "front sight" and aim. I miss every shot that I remember seeing the bead during the shot process.

Your focus should 100% be on the leading edge of the clay, and your subconscious brain will do the rest (assuming the gun fits well).

I have also found there is VERY conflicting information and everyone seems to have their own style/opinions.
