Anyone have a Ruger Mark IV Tactical?

One question: Can the lower rail be removed?

Thank you. I had seen conflicting info between MAC's review (saying he planned to remove it) and a Ruger forum (saying it would not come off).

Trying to decide between the Mark IV Lite and the Mark IV Tactical. I would rather have the heavier model but only if the rail comes off.

You can get the 22/45 lite with both rails also

If the threaded barrel doesn’t matter, there is the 22/45 Target model as well. It doesn’t have either rail.

Glad WebSnyoer was able to quickly come up with that. I would have had to google it.

I have a MkIII 22/45 Target and Lite, the Target balances much better than I expected it to given the additional barrel weight. That said, I couldn’t argue with the MkIV tactical model for it’s aluminum lower.

I did see that Bud’s has the 22/45 Target for around $70 less than the Tactical.

Thank you. That is very helpful, I did not catch that when I was on the site. I definitely want a threaded barrel for my Sparrow.
Now it comes down to ergonomics (weight, checkering of the grips, etc).
