I've got a 458 Socom AR15 but I'm thinking it might be fun to get a lever action rifle. I've got no desire to add another caliber to my too long list of various calibers and it seems like the 458 Socom is the most suitable round I have for a custom lever gun.

So who can help with this?

Fireball are you out there . . . calling Bryan . . . er uh Buhler?

The marlin 336 can handle the pressure of the round. the Socom round runs at 35 K cup and the marlin is said to be able to handle 50 K cup. So it can handle the pressure.

I am sure someone will build it it you want it. If you are wanting something different. I think it would be cool if you made it into a cowboy assault rifle in 458 socom.

I know of no one who offers this round as a conversion for the marlin line.

I am sure Wild west guns in Alaska might make one for you.
For one year they offered the model 4 at WWG. It was 357 max or 500 S&W. It
has never been offered again. The pressure was most likely to high.

It has been done with the rimmed 458 BFG.

I intended to stick a 35 Remington bolt in it and try standard 458 SOCOM brass but never did.

Ended up turning it into a 50 Alaskan before it was all over with.

An interesting experiment, but don't see it happening again by me.

A couple of fellows from down around Salem rebored 444 Marlins. I rented them the reamer and gauges - and they were returned on time, but haven't heard a word back from them.

If Nonneman or McPherson was interested in doing it, I'd send them the reamer and gauges.
