Im looking at getting a bipod for my Olympic Arms AR. My biggest concern is the length, should i get the 6-9 or the 9-13? I have several 30 round mags but no smaller ones, so I am afraid that the 6-9 won't be high enough for the 30 round mags. Mainly bench shooting and some prone.

If you're going to shoot prone with a bipod, I think you'd want a 6" height. If it were me, the 9" would be too tall for prone.

And you'll probably want to find some 20rnd mags.

I have two 6 to 9's on the shelf. One of them is the pivoting version. For a bipod, this is the length to use. I have owned them for a long time.

They don't see any use because there are far better options than the weight and bulk of a bipod.

Harris 9-13" leg notch non swivel models

Been using them since '76 or '78.

Good for bench or prone/off the hood chuck blasting. Yotes, I would prefer taller, but like my rifle lighter and go without any most times.

I have always used 6"-9" bi-pods. They are the perfect height for me when shooting off of a bench or prone. They are not heavy or bulky as said above.

id throw a 30 rd mag in and set up like your gonna be in a bench maybe on your kitched table and have someone else measure from the table to the handguard. add 2-3 inches for wiggle room and your good to go.

Have had a 6-9 for several years....use 30 mags without any problems. Best bet would be to find a friend or friends who have both sizes and give them a try. The larger size might be what works for you.
