    It was good. The folks doing the re-enactment did a good job. Of course the attire was period correct or period correct reproductions, and there were severa firearms in the display.

    STG44, a few G43's, several K98's, M1 rifle, M1 Carbines, MG42's, Brens, Enfields, and a few allied SMG's.

    All were firing blanks, but gave a small glimpse of what the sounds of combat might have been like.


    The highlight for me was having a few minutes to talk with a Battle of the Buldge Veteran from the US Army, and a very sincere handshake. Even at 80+ years old, his dress uniform was worn proudly with a crips crease in the trousers, his shoes were shined to a near mirror finish, and his firm hand shake and confident look into my eyes gave me great feeling for the pride he had in his country, and in the men he served with some 70 years ago. :patriot:
