The hype on WTHR makes this out to be some big give-away to the gun manufacturer. Here's the bill:

    https://iga.in.gov/legislative/2015/bills/senate/98

The anti-gun people the dug up for the preview are saying this is a safety and victims rights issue. Bullcrap! If the manufacturer or the distributor or the dealer failed to follow the law, that's already CRIMINAL and they would be prosecuted. To say this is going to open up the floodgates to illegal guns is utterly ridiculous! To give, sell, or transfer a gun to someone who is not a proper person is already 100% illegal in Indiana and will remain so regardless of SB48.

This bill prevents FRIVOLOUS civil lawsuits against manufacturers and delaers who have OBEYED the law but in spite of that a gun ended up in the wrong hands. This is no different than holding GM liable for a drunk driver who killed a pedestrian.

Same old same old. The anti gunners think they should go after the manufactures and destroy the dreaded guns in the hands of lawful citizens at its source. It is never about victims rights it is always about stealing our 2A rights. The left never wants to hold the actual perpetrator of the crime responible. Now they want to stop legislation that protects all those that are lawful.

Looks like Mr Relford is showing up for us again. The same for Rep Tomes. Thank you folks!

I know how much of IMPD officer Runnel's pay we are supplying as taxpayers. How much of the two anti-gun IU professor's pay are we subsiding as taxpayers? What is the best recourse for these folks and WTHR, who so strongly represent the other side?

The best recourse against WTHR is to stop purchasing from their advertisers, and let the advertisers and WTHR know why.

As for Helmke, the best recourse against him would be termination and forcing him to actually work in the private sector. As he's an attorney, that should be easy for him. Or at least, it would be if he actually had a client base somewhere.

Of course, if he's somehow gotten tenure, booting him off the public teat is going to be almost impossible.

    Blessings,

This whole thing is becoming an old, dull saw for me, and shame on WTHR for playing into this topic at all. It seems our country's sense of entitlement truly knows no bounds, it's GOT to be someone else's fault in spite of the many laws already on the books to hold bad guys accountable. I think jwh20 hit the nail on the head.

Next we'll stop selling lighters and matches, so irresponsible kids who like to play with fire won't wet the bed.
