Wondering if a 600/666 grain slug is safe to fire in my gun.
Topper model 58, 12 gauge. It was shortened to 18.5 inches (not by me) so it has no choke, but originally had a fixed-modified.
It is a smooth barrel as well.
Just wanting to compare them to a regular Winchester slug.
I know it can shoot slugs, but am wondering if it is designed to withstand the pressures of a slug that hot, I don't want the gun to break. Company just says for use in modern firearms, safe for all chokes *except the crush I believe is only safe for no choke.
I know there is not really any need to have these slugs, as opposed to standard 300 grain ones, but I figured it would be interesting to shoot one.
Rated over 3,000 ft lbs as well.
