How does the accuracy of a 16" barrelled AR compare to a 20" barrel?

Range of 200 yds., 300 yds?

I used my carbine at a clinic last spring with the average shot about 8" from dead center at 200 yds with iron sights and from 3 positions. I was wondering how much difference barrel length made.

mechanical accuracy will vary very little if both barrels are made with that same way (same twist, same material, etc), optics, ammo and the person behind the rifle will determine the rest.

Longer sight radius would be better (in aim and possibly adjustment).

Got 3/4" groups back to back from my 16" Stag with GI trigger (did set screw to take out creep and JP spring kit) with Hornady V max and Redfield set at 7X. No decent bags though. Good 'nuff.
