I'm on the train back to Hoosierville from Chicago. Train was delayed enroute 30 minutes due to police activity on tracks. They backed up and switched tracks. Passed the cordoned off area, full of police and TV crews. Searched Google and found breaking news of 9 year old shot at 1200 block of East 71st street. That's about where the commotion was.

    Too sad. Too much.

No, I'd assume just some very heart broken people mourning.

Agreed, but this child is just as dead as the man that all the fury has been about for the last several days. It bothers me that one killing is not an outrage while another is viewed as one. I know the reasons why...that's why it bothers me.

What kind of animal shoots a child??? :xmad:

I think you answered your own question, Mark 1911. Animals. :xmad:

I'm actually in the same predicament as you (we only live a few blocks apart). I live here (Highland) but I'm forced to work where the money is (industrial machine shop, and most of our nickle, hard-chrome, anodizing, and broaching vendors are in Chicago).

I'm stuck in a car or truck though (wife works at CBOT and takes the SS train).

    Sometimes it's hard....
