My Bulgarian AK originally came with a dark grey parkerizing job. I asked Cory if he could put a black finish on it.

Unfortunately the camera phone doesn't do his work justice. If I can get my camera working I'll try to take some better pics. The AK looks perfect. I dropped the rifle off and Cory had it done in a matter of days. He does great work at a fair price. I recommend him highly for all of your refinishing or stippling needs!

Does anything special have to be done to the gun before it can take that coating? And what kind of coating is on there now?

I think its molyresin and Cory told me the parkerizing was a good base for the finish. I watched him blast the bolt to get the crappy finish off and I think there was a lot of cleaning involved..

I appreciate the kind words Fenway!

465guy - Parkerizing is a great base for just about any of the finishes out on the market. Basically just need to degrease very well prior to applying the coating. If the surface you're wanting coated is smooth, blasting is recommended first to give the coating something to hang on to.

    Sexy.

    Now go scratch it up.

I was going to say, maybe I'll have Cory refinish my West German Police trade in Sig when it gets here.... but I know in the end it'll look like one of Shay's Glocks anyway, why bother.

    ;)

    BTW Cory, looks great.....

and, can you do a Sig P226 in Pink or Goddess Purple?

Sure can. DuraCoat offers a ton of different colors. The DC isn't quite as durable as the Norrell's moly resin or Cerakote that I use but it's still pretty good stuff.
