Indiana State Police Investigating Officer Involved Shooting in Anderson

(Anderson, Indiana) Detectives from the Indiana State Police Pendleton District were requested by Madison County Sheriff, John Beeman to investigate an officer involved shooting that occurred in Anderson early this morning.
Preliminary investigations determined that around 12:08 am, a Madison County Deputy was patrolling in the area of 5th Street and Jackson street. As the deputy stopped at the traffic light at that intersection, he observed individuals at the Jackson Mart gas station pumps began shooting in his general direction. The deputy exited his vehicle and fired at least one shot from his department issued sidearm. The Madison County Sheriff's Department identified the deputy as Deputy Robert A. Lemon, a four year veteran with the department. Lemon did not sustain any injuries.
It was later determined another vehicle drove past the Jackson Mart, fired shots at those individuals at the pumps, and drove away.
One individual, identified as Aundray Lamonte Ivy Jr .20 of Anderson, was struck by a bullet during the exchange of gunfire. Ivy was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released. It not been determined at this time whether the bullet was from the Madison County Deputy sidearm or from the individual(s) in the other vehicle.
The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Madison County Sheriff's Department, Anderson Police Department, and the Madison County Prosecutor's Office.
The information in this release is preliminary. This investigation is still ongoing . Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Tony Klettheimer at either 1-800-527-4752 or 765-778-2121.
All crimes mentioned above are alleged and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.

There's a reason you could buy houses cheap in anderson.
You still can. The good part is rent payments are up in both towns.
My ex rents a house just off Madison ave on W 3rd in Anderson. Just on the edge of being tough town.
She pays a $1,000 plus elec and gas, for a 2 bedroom 1 bath.

I was just looking on realtor.com and there are still sub-$30k houses up there.
