Fact Checks Admittedly Just Opinions

John Stossel sued Facebook for marking some of his content as inaccurate. Facebook recently admitted they partner with other groups to fact check the high volume of posts. Those individuals don’t actually check to see whether the posts are factual, but simply give an opinion as to whether it’s factual.

The problem is that so many people don’t know that. They see something marked “missing context” or whatnot and believe it at face value. It ends up covering up unpopular ideas. I think everyone knew it was impossible to dig through that many posts, but it’s interesting to see them admit it.

I wish it would be completely, 100% uncensored. I don't believe in hate speech or misinformation, I believe in FREE speech. If you're stupid and soft headed and can be swayed by someone else's words, that's on you, not the speaker of ideas. How far we've fallen

Would an admission of using "fact checking" to editorialize your content put them on shaky legal footing if users were to sue to recoup the costs of allowing them to use your data? If the "agreement" to provide a free service in exchange for the use of your data has been violated, they should pay out for it.
