    What and why?

I'm looking for some input here. I have been offered an Armalite about 1/2 MSRP by someone I work with, but was curious about what other were shooting. This would be a first in that chambering/semi-auto for me.

    Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

The Armalite should be reliable. A DPMS Stainless barrel will be the most accurate out of the box from what I've seen.

Armalites are great guns and if you can get it for 1/2 msrp you wont be disappointed. If you pick it up and dont like it Im sure you could get your money back out of it. Just put it in the classifieds.

The dpms 308b is an absolute tack driver. Some dpms rifle are going to function better than others though. Cmmg has some great options coming out soon like the mk 18.

CMMG's .308 has been out for better than 6 months. Are there additional options coming out?

I have one and it has functioned flawlessly.

That's the thing, their website has been under construction for a while and the ones they've gotten out onto the market haven't been in huge numbers. From what I've read though they are an outstanding 308. Rangers in Fort Wayne has a CMMG 308 with an 18" stainless barrel on it that is soaking wet in awesomeness. The two DPMS 308B's I've had have been outstanding tack drivers in the accuracy department, but both were heavy MF'ers that were only going to good for the bench. That CMMG 308 I held at Rangers actually felt pretty light when I was holding it. I'm sure it'd feel more normal after a loaded mag was in, but if I had the money I'd buy that CMMG 308 in a heartbeat.
