...what a dream.! Finally found some time to get over to that tucked away place near North Vernon...Crosley DNR range.

(rant)(*daaaaang - is that range tucked back in there..!!*)(rant/)

but once there, shot about 75 rounds through that beautiful iron and was amazingly accurate for such a big boomer. What a nice feel (*with added Hogue grips*).

Awesome build quality and not too much recoil. I blistered several targets from 15 - 25 yards.

I do need to play with the rear sights a tick...but all in all I am waaay pleased.!!

This is a round I wish would have taken off more. I would love to have a compact Marlin 1894 in .327 Fed. That would be one versatile rifle.

You r the man...........The Ruger SP101 in 327 Federal is my favorite handgun. I too find it fun to shoot. It seems to find its way into my truck everytime I go shooting. I become a revolver man after experiencing jams with the auto loaders. I shoot 32 SW shorts, 32 SW longs, 32 H&R mags and 327 Federal when I want a magnum impact with less recoil than the (9 mm) 357.

Unfortunately I sold a Ruger KGPFNY-141 revolver before I realized what I had done. It is a stainless steel 38 Special only revolver with a half-shroud 4 inch BBL made specifically for the New York Police Department. There was a production over run and many found their way to the public. I happen to find one at Bradis Guns and sold it before I realized it was a very rare piece and collectable. The KGPF -141 (half shroud GP100) is a fantastic handgun and shoots even better than the SP101 in 327 or its younger brother "the G100".

How would you compare the recoil of the various 32s to a standard pressure 38 spl? My mom, who has always been a bit recoil sensitive, broke her wrist last year and ever since has found her PK380 to be a little too painful to shoot for extended sessions. The SP101 in 327 is one of the guns I thought might make a good replacement for her, assuming that the 32 H&R or S&W Longs are easy enough on her wrist.

32 S&W shorts will be easy to shoot. The longs aren't much different. I like the 32 H&R round but they are more expensive. I can't tell much difference between a 327 Federal and a 38 Special. But, I wouldn't select the SP101 to shoot 38 specials or 357 mags. I use the GP100 for 357/38 rounds or a SW model 64 or 686.

The Walther 380 is a 9 mm round and if her wrist hurts with it then she want be able to shoot anything much larger than a 22 mag or 32 shorts. The SP101 needs a long barrel (3 inch) to reduce the flash and noise and makes the gun easier on the wrist.
