Okay got the first die set today for my 44 mag. I was under the understanding that the shell holder should slide right in this one will not I dont want to force and hit it to get it in there. Idk why its so tight or is it supose to be. Was gonna get some blueing to see where its rubbing at.

I know first time trying and already a problem with something easy I just dont wanna force anything till I know forshure it supose to go that hard

It really shouldn't be "tight". It should have little slop, but turn freely and not require any real force to insert or remove from the top of the ram on your RockChucker. Maybe a little lubricant is indicated, or perhaps some emery cloth around the shell holder base?

are you using the right shellholder for the press? Some presses require "their brand" shellholders.

Mine slides in and out sort of tight, but turns so I can change loading sides easily.

I had a Lee .45acp die set with shellholder that did that. I literally had to use a pair of pliers (that were protected with black tape) to lock it in. After a few uses, it loosened right up.
