Pretty good deal going on at Rural King when you buy a 1911 in .45acp (looks like it's an ATI 1911) you get a free GSG 1911-22 after rebate. Sale starts tomorrow.

Tempting but I feel like too much money would have to be put into the ATI to make it a nice 1911 therefor I would rather just pony up the cash and buy a Springfield Range Officer or similar.

I agree with that. I think this offer is aimed towards someone who is happy with just entry level run of the mill type 1911s and doesn't plan on upgrading anything .

It's a great deal considering the cost of a GSG .22 1911 which would almost give away the ATI so it's a descent deal for a entry level. I'm more prone to the buy once cry once scenario but still a good deal.

How does it work. Do you pay up front $500. Or $500. Plus the $279. And get the $279. Back in the form of a rebate?

From the way I read it you buy both both and then submit the rebate for $279 and get an in-store rebate card like 6-8 weeks later.

You don't get a free GSG, you pay for both guns and get a RK Gift card for $279.00. You can't use the Gift Card anywhere else but RK. I fail to see this as a Good Deal unless you spend a lot of Ca$h at RK.

This is a case of "The big print giveth, and the small print taketh away." Despite the ad stating that all that is required is the purchase of "a" 1911 .45 (and the ad picture shows a Rock Island 1911), you must purchase a *specific* model 1911 (not a Rock Island). We were at the Frankfort store today, planning on picking up a Rock Island 1911 as a project build and walking away with the GSG 1911 as a bonus. But it was not to be. Wound up picking up the Rock Island (it was a good price), but no GSG for us. Somewhat disappointing. The people who design their ads are less than honest. Or are lazy.

You pay for both at checkout (about $830, if my math is correct), and then you get a merchandise card for $279. It would be better for the buyer to get a free GSG, but it's better for Rural King because you're spending $1100+ at their stores!

Still, use that merch card and a few more bucks to get a nice little .380 to carry around when you don't want to carry something bigger!
