I need help removing the base plates on my G26 mags. I purchased the +0 Pearce extensions and having a heck of a time getting the OEM bases plates off.

I did a search on here but didn't find anything that jumped out at me.

I searched YouTube and found some hits but when I tried I still fail.

    These are the gen4 mags.

Any tips or tricks to get these things off?

    Thanks

Yes. Squeeze the sides together, depress the button and slide all at the same time. It really can be cumbersome. If you had a third hand, stand on one leg and hold your tongue to the left it may help.

In Hamilton County? If so I will do it for you also, see you have friends here, welcome to Ingo and the world of Glocks. If on the south side, take it to Bradis, ask for Shooter!

Place mag on a solid surface, like a desk(front towards floor). Insert punch into opening of baseplate. Apply a slow steady downward force. After the base plate starts to move, you should be able to complete the task by hand.

After taking a break I was able to get it this morning and it was fairly easy. Not sure what in the heck I was doing before but I got it.

    Thanks everyone!

been a while since I did this.....

But, when I finally got mine off I was crawling around on the floor looking for the baseplate and mag spring. Cats are helpful here. Good luck.
