Leaning toward a solar backup system. Fist comes the transfer switch for the house. Any idea on a reasonable cost for installation? Any good 'lectricians up in the region?

If you have transfer switch in hand and the load center is attached to an exterior wall (garage?), the installer should have it in place in less than an hour. So, I would think <$250. But, the in these times you'll likely get some crazy quotes. And then, getting them to show up will be another struggle. Strictly my opinion, ymmv.
