Here's my experience with Gutridge (I'm talking about the shop on the west side of Broad Street in Griffith, just north of the tracks and south of Main Street).
I just had him adjust the fixed sights on my Kimber Custom Stainless 1911. It was shooting about 2 inches left of center at 25 feet. He realigned the sights using his eyes and a ruler. It does shoot much better now. It still needs a fine adjustment, but its less than 1/2-inch off at 25 feet. That's pretty darn good for eyeballing it. That much I will give him credit for.
However, I hate to have to mention that he did put a mark on the front sight. It's not very noticeable, unless it happens to be your pistol and you paid over $2K for it. Somewhat disappointing to say the least. And I know most guys are pretty anal about their guns, especially the big ticket ones. So in all honesty, I would not recommend him to someone else.
