I was licensed as a Technician in June 2006, Upgraded to General Feb. 2007. Slowly working on my extra now.

I haven't hardly operated recently. I turn on 442.650, and 146.700 in Indianapolis while I'm in the car.

A net however, I could get involved with.

KG9KF here. Advanced class license. Have some old tube-type HF gear. Heathkit HW101 10-80 meter transceiver. Like to operate QRP CW just for the challenge. "Work the world on 5 watts". Father in law got me interested in early 90's. Licensed since 1992.

Use my little VHF/UHF handheld to listen in on the local repeaters. Do some volunteering on occasion-mini marathon, etc.

    Fun stuff!

Ok I'll play! Got my no-code tech license in 1992 as N9OFY. Upgraded to General and then Advanced later that year and changed my call to KF9JW. Mostly operate on 2m and 440 but have been known to work 40m, 20m, 15m, and 10m CW and SSB.

Someday if I do more HF work I'd like to upgrade to Extra, but it's kinda nice having a license class that no one can get anymore.

I'm KB9RDL, stay on 145.330, mostly for weather nets and all things storm chasing.

Could definately be part of a net sometime, some where

What do you do when the internets goes boom? :)

Same thing I do whenever my connection goes down. Curl up in the corner in the fetal position and sob until SBC fixes it.

/I can give it up anytime I want. I just don't want to. :n00b:

I have my no code ticket, but have not owned a radio in about 10 years now. I was a 2m user almost exclusively, and maybe one day I will get on the air again. I have looked at some cheap 2m handhelds recently, but the funds end up somewhere else every time. I did renew my license when it came up so I'm still good to go should I get a radio one day.

My parents, and several aunts and uncles are HAMs also.
