Holton Twp, Michigan Forms Militia in Response to Red Flag Law

Holton Township in Muskegon County, Michigan has formed a voluntary militia and declared itself a “Second Amendment Sanctuary City”. The township trustees passed a resolution to designate the community as a “Second Amendment Sanctuary”. The Militia Public Security Act states that the township is adopting policies for the security and rights of its residents.

The militia was formed to protest red flag gun laws.

That township manager sounded like Whitmer-lite with a slightly more conservative outlook on guns. What a p***y. If you’re going to play constitutional lawfare against the State, form a militia of which every person can be a card-carrying member, and there you have it, a “well-regulated militia.” Extra points to the township if they encourage militia members to be armed to some extent while in township jurisdiction without requiring any form of LTCH from the state. Open carry and rifles included. Crime rate = zero, constitutionality = 100.

It seems that this supports the liberal argument that the 2nd Amendment is about organized militia and not about private ownership of arms. You are not our group; you have no right to be armed.

All males are members of the Militia (unorganized) since they were 17. Act like it, have a suitable arm, powder and ball.

This "formed a voluntary militia" should be utterly normal and expected in this country. For those of us past our "best if used by date", there used to be the Volunteer List.
