i have a large lightweight nylonish rainfly, i want to glue heavy mil mylar to one side (trying to make a lightweight arcturus type tarp) what will glue this? i am thinking gorilla glue spray contact adhesive
    or 3m carpet bond spray.

Sounds like you're going to have sticky stuff from a-hole to elbow and a tarp that will fail when you need it the most. But I could be wrong.

Does it have to be glued everywhere? Or would just the outer edges be enough?

    Perhaps sewn along those edges?

    In the country, hopefully.
The spray adhesive has failed me more than a few times, it seems temporary (a few years max) when glueing foam insulation to interior of a steel cab.

Can you get pieces to test?

Sewing could be best, maybe even sandwich the Mylar between two layers if it seems ‘brittle’.
