    Introduction to Shooting and Firearms Safety Class

    This class is intended for new shooters or people thinking about getting into shooting.

    Classes will be individual, small groups or families.

    Topics:
    • Safety Rules (Cooper)
    1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
    2. NEVER POINT THE GUN AT ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY
    3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON TARGET
    4. BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEHIND IT
    • Safe Gun Handling
    • Children and Guns
    • Overview of firearms and ammunition
    • Shooting Basics
    o Eye dominance
    o Stance
    o Grip
    o Sight Alignment
    o Trigger Control
    o Follow through
    • Basics will be covered with an inert “blue gun”. IF required safety is demonstrated by the student, we will continue with live fire, first with a 22 rimfire, then centerfire.

    Requirements:
    • Students may use their own firearms or mine (let me know).
    • Students should bring eye and ear protection (or provided on request).
    • Students MUST bring their own ammo or arrange for it at an additional cost. Ammunition type and quantity will be specified when registration is confirmed.
    • Register at ShootingandSafety@comcast.net with the # of students, type of firearms, requested date (Saturday or Sunday, 9-7only) and any questions or concerns.

    Rates:
    • One student $80 for 2 hours
    • Two students $150 for 2 hours
    • Family (immediate family up to four) $220 for 2 hours

    This is roughly 20 minutes north of Noblesville. We can either meet at that location or somewhere in Fishers / Noblesville and you can follow me there.
    NOTE: ACC is a “members only” club. It is only open to the public for matches or as a guest of a member.

    Qualifications:
    • Over 30 years of shooting experience.
    I have been shooting competitively since 2006 (IDPA, USPSA, SCSA, Multi-Gun)
    • USPSA Certified Range Officer for 3 years.
    • CPR, First Aid and AED Certified.
    • Currently Working on NRA Trainer Certification and NRA Range Officer Certification.
