I've found a pistol I want but it's in Louisville Kentucky I was curious as to if you actually have to ship it or if I can just have the guy meet me at a FFL dealer and transfer it?

Depends. I know Falls City Firearms in Clarksville does across-the-border face-to-face FFL transfers for $20. The guys at 111 Gun Shop just drive it across (or at least they used to. Not sure what they do now that the bridge traffic is so crippling). They go through Reloader's Supply in Jeffersonville.

    Above is correct.

Since it is a handgun, the transfer MUST take place (via FFL / Form 4473) in the buyer's state of residence.
