Low cost network capable of connecting electronic smart devices independent of a cell network or internet. Essentially Wireless, Off-Grid, No-License Communication at low cost.

If you lived near a group of like minded individuals, this would provide an alternate means of communication.

Sorry to dust an old thread off. Seems like the discussion never really took off. I just stumbled into the info about this while platform and tech and been absorbing as much info as I can. I plan on going the "wisblock" route and doing some testing. Anyone else here been diving into it since this thread started?
    I've found a good parts resource: rakwireless.com

May be good for use with your team, tied into ATAK. Or over a larger area if you can get some repeaters at height, maybe your local ham club. A FB group just started up for Indiana Mesh. Some cities have wide use of it out west not so much here.

I just started looking into this as well. I like the ATAK integration but don't have a "team" right now.

Thinking more toawrds remote environment sensor monitoring.

That was my implied thought as well. If your into monitoring and radio I recommend skywave linux. it can be ran as a live usb or installation. they guy who put it together has done a lot of work. can boot up and tune in right out of box over the internet interface stations.
