It's really telling when one group wants to break away from a Richard Trumpka lead group because they're not progressive enough. I know many good, hard working union folks that do not reflect the likes of the people you see leading these unions. I know some that are. It's a shame it's the latter that seem to rise to positions of power of these organizations.

The national leadership feels it is more important to benefit Dems than it is to benefit their members. All of the private sector unions need to accept that these people are only interested in the public sector unions now. They want higher taxes. They want more government. They want more regulation. I don't know any actual labor union members that want any of that stuff. The Mine Workers unions didn't openly oppose Obama even though he promised to destroy their industry. The head of the Teamsters says now that Obamacare will destroy our way of life. He knew it before, but he went along to get along.

    1. Jurisdictional Dispute

    Jurisdictional Dispute

Conflicting claims made by two different labor unions to an employer regarding assignment of the work or union representation.

Two basic types of controversies ordinarily arise in such disputes. There can be a disagreement concerning whether certain work should be done by workers in one union or another. For example, there might be a dispute between employees in a carpenters' union and a glaziers' union concerning who should install frames for windows in an apartment building. When this type of dispute arises, there must exist evidence of a threat of coercive action in order for the national labor relations board (NLRB) to intervene by conducting a hearing and making an assignment of the work.

A jurisdictional dispute might also arise concerning which union should represent employees who are performing a particular type of work.

I missed the misspelling of the word. Mea culpa.

Ever hear of Noah Webster who was a famous Connecticut native? He was a language scholar who helped to invent and change the English language and how words were spelled in order to Americanize it.

    Noah Webster

His name became synonymous with "dictionary" in the United States, especially the modern Merriam-Webster dictionary that was first published in 1828 as An American Dictionary of the English Language.

Very few could read or write in Mr. Webster's time. Reading and writing for the masses is an issue of modern times.

Indiana and even Connecticut Hood rats have their own American language, wonder if Mr. Webster would be proud of that?

More like mob boss fighting mob boss. They're both corrupt.

Commies, mob bosses, no real difference, Stalin was a capo in a uniform. The KGB admitted in the '90's that the president of the ILWU had been on their payroll for decades. IBEW is almost as dirty as ILWU.
