    Thanks for everyone's reply!

To follow up on a couple questions, he is left eye dominate also. This will be a western mountain gun, so I think we are going to look at Tikka T3X's, Savage 110's, Browninf X-Bolts and ummm urrrr...Christensen Arms. lol.

He's a great kid, it's a lifetime rifle, I may pop for the CA Ridgeline.

I'm left handed with a safe full of left handed rifles and shotguns. I've never owned or carried a wrong-handed weapon.

Why should your son have to compromise every time he picks up a rifle for the rest of his life? Get him a gun that fits him.

Well, the spoiled brat is getting a beautiful 1981 Remington 700LH in .270 with a vintage gloss Leupold Vari-XIIc for his 15th birthday. If he likes the lefty action a more modern rifle in 7mm PRC will follow. Yesterday he shot one of my vintage right hand 700's and it was super awkward for him. I look forward to seeing him smooth out with a lefty gun.

    For future lefty reference.

Finding them in stock might be a challenge though.

Good on you! It's also in a classic western caliber. Jack O'Conner is smiling big right now.
