Marlin made millions and millions of the 336's, not hard to find but be prepared to pay big money for a nice one right now.Ruger bought Marlin out of the Bankruptcy Court after Remington went bankrupt. But I don't think they should be too hard to find.
I have a friend looking for a Marlin in 3030. Model 336 I suppose.
Are they still making these?
If not, what model/years should he look for in the used market.
Thanks!
Definitely 30-30 but quite a few .35's too. They've been made since 1948 and from what I read even as far back as 1983 they had made 3.5 million of them and that was 30 years ago.I expect the .30-30 is the most common Marlin lever made. Probably 3 of 4 Model 336 I see are in that cartridge.
