I have an old mossberg that I needed to replace a few parts on, my only question is, it says mossberg on the stock, but there are no markings, at all on the receiver. No model number, no manufacturer name, no serial number, nothing. From its construction and parts, I am very certain that it is a 500A, but I was just curious, is it possible that this one was just made before 1968? It is a very old gun, I just find it interesting that there is no marking on it at all. Also, on this gun, the pivots for the shell elevator both broke off. Is this a common problem, or does anyone know how this happens? Sorry if I'm going on, but I've never seen a gun with no markings at all and figured I'd ask the experts.
