So my buddy Keith got a killer deal on a Mossburg 4x4 in 308, but the plastic stock just plain sucked , it was uncomfortable to shoot, would not group, and just plain felt cheap, so a new boyds stock was ordered.
After a dry fit of the magazine well, and action, it was time to go to work on the stock, brass extra thick washers were chosen , and fitted so the screw heads would bear on them, and inside so the action/magazine well would sit on them, they were bead blasted, cleaned and epoxied in place, after letting those dry, I went ahead and carved out a pocket in the recoil lug area, so lots of bedding epoxy could be set in place, a couple wraps of tape and some shoe polish the action was fit in place and left to dry.
Now it off to the range to read to the scope and finally enjoy this rifle
The last picture is a tip for to you, I take glossy magazine and use them to nix epoxy, bondo, paint,ECT on, makes a great pallet
